What Is Bracing Plywood?
Bracing plywood is a structural plywood panel specifically manufactured for use as wall bracing in timber-framed construction. Nailed to studs and frames, it resists racking and
wind loads, keeping a building's frame rigid, square and structurally sound. Unlike non-structural plywood, every sheet of bracing ply is stress-graded and tested to Australian Standards, so builders and engineers can specify it with confidence.
Structural vs Non-Structural Plywood
Structural plywood is manufactured and certified for load-bearing applications , bracing,flooring, and formwork under AS/NZS 2269, with each sheet stress-graded (F8, F11, F14,
F17 or F22) for strength and stiffness. Non-structural plywood is designed for lining,packaging and general-purpose use where load resistance isn't required. If your project involves wall bracing, flooring joists, or anything load-bearing, always choose a certified structural plywood sheet rather than a general-purpose panel.
